"1.  Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me:  It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

"2.  Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. ...

"7.  For I would that all men were even as I myself.  But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

"8.  I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

"9.  But if they cannot contain, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn."

Web Changes

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

April 14, 2007:  A new page has been added entitled "Bible Scriptures for Mormons."  It may be found by clicking that title under the Bible readings on the Home Page.  It is the perfect tool for the Christian worker, showing what the Bible says as opposed to the teachings of Mormonism.  This is a good way to win your Mormon friend or family member back to loving the Bible!

April 22, 2007:  Another feature was just started today entitled "Book of Mormon Problems".  It  may be found on the "Writings" Page.   This will explore a variety of problems within the Book of Mormon text.  It will be fascinating to your Mormon friends!

June 3, 2007:  A fascinating interchange with Ex-Mormons who have rejected the Bible has just been added to the "Feedback" section.

August 27, 2007:  The official web page of the recent film release "September Dawn":  www.septemberdawn.net.   See Dr. Dean Helland's reaction to the film below.

September 22, 2007:  Dr. Helland attended the 150th anniversary of the Mountain Meadows Massacre in southern Utah on September 11th.  Check back again soon for his pictures of the event.

May 10, 2008:  The AP reports that the Vatican has just issued an order that its dioceses are to stop giving the Mormon church lists of its deceased members in order to stop them from being baptized in proxy by the Mormon Church.  This follows a 1995 agreement of the Mormon church with Jewish leaders to withdraw lists of Holocaust victims from their files who were to be candidates for proxy baptism.

The Mormon Church urges its members to do genealogy work in order that their deceased ancestors may be offered membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A Personal Note:  When I was a missionary in Chile, I learned that the Mormon church had obtained the names of all the birth records of the Catholic Church prior to 1900.  They were able to do this by providing the Catholic Church with computers to modernize their entire record system.  They told the Catholic Church that they were searching for ancestors of Joseph Smith, Jr., the founder of the Mormon Church.

After I informed Catholic leaders of the true intentions of the Mormons, they went on national television to declare publicly that the Mormon church had lied to them!

August 27, 2007:  Dr. Dean Helland's Reaction to the Film, "September Dawn":

With this film, Hollywood has done its best to bring to light a largely-forgotten tragedy which happened 150 years ago.  Discussion about it, however, now falls into the "politically incorrect" category.

Nearly all the quotes from Brigham Young are verbatim and can easily be documented from Mormon writings, primarily from the volumes of the "Journal of Discourses".

There were some inaccuracies, as happens in all Hollywood films.  For example, the Paiute Indians now claim that only one or at the most, two, joined in the massacre and that the Mormons have been propagating a lie all this time, blaming them for the killing of the women and children.  Also, each person who marched single-file from the camp was personally escorted by a Mormon who shot him or her at a given signal.

Also, the film failed to mention that Brigham Young forbade the burying of the victims.  This led to the mutilation of their bodies by animals that visited the scene later.  The bones were scattered over a large area and were later buried by U.S. troops.

More can be seen on this website detailing the on-going and open refusal of the Mormon Church to do right by the relatives and descendants of the survivors.

Prayer of Salvation:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your Holy Word, the Bible, which reveals the plan of salvation which is so simple.  I repent for thinking that a church could save me when you only ask me to come to you in simple faith.  Lord, I have heard your knock at the door of my heart.  I open that door and ask you to come in.  I believe that you lived a sinless life, took my sins upon you when you died on the cross, and are now at the right hand of the Father, praying for me.

I renounce Mormonism and everything associated it.  I ask for release from all the spirits of deception I have allowed in my life by doubting your holy Word and following the teachings of men.  Cleanse me with your shed blood.  I believe.  I receive you now as my Lord and Savior.  I will seek out a church which teaches the Bible as the guide for my life.  I will be re-baptized as a testimony of my new-found faith.  I give you my life.  Do with me what you will.  I promise never leave you, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you, Jesus!  Amen!

If you prayed this prayer sincerely, please contact Dr. Dean at the email address below and let him know about it.  He will see that you receive the guidance necessary to keep you in the ways of the Lord.  Of course, your name and email address will be kept confidential.
