Our MissionOur message is especially directed at Mormons and Bible-believing Christians with Mormon family and friends. Our love for Mormons is demonstrated by honestly proclaiming the Bible as the Word of God and comparing it with Mormon teachings. Mormons claim to believe the Bible, but prefer their own leaders' "revelations" above its plain teachings. Historical and other aspects of Mormonism are examined from the Christian perspective. Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, charged his followers to confront the charges presented by his challengers. (Doctrine and Covenants 71:7-8) Thus it is in the Christian spirit of heart-to-heart dialogue that you Mormons out there are invited to consider the materials presented on this website. As a starting point, download Bible Scriptures for Mormons near the end of this page and study it carefully before continuing the dialogue. Anyone else interested in sharing ideas is also invited to join in! Confidentiality will be honored when requested. Bible Reading For Today: In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:9-12 Update 6/16/10: For a brief synopsis of the Mormon gospel and followed by biblical responses, keep scrolling down to near the end of the updates below. Update 5/21/10: I had another encounter with some Mormon missionaries recently and have put a written account of it at the end of the article "My Visit With Two Mormon Missionaries". It deals with the problems of (1) Polygamy, (2) Race and (3) Changes made in the text of the Book of Mormon by the Mormon Church. Update 3/31/10: Both Haiti and Chile have suffered terrible earthquakes in the recent past. Billions of dollars of help have poured into Haiti from around the world and rightfully so. We have sent money there ourselves. However, the material damage in Chile was much greater and much more extensive. Of particular interest to us is the damage done to the National Bible Institute in Chile, under the leadership of missionary Paul Hoff. I worked with him there for a number of years, and he has asked me to present the needs they are facing. You may contact him directly to decide what kind of project you and/or your church may take on to help with the Lord's work in Chile. Not only was there significant damage at the site in Santiago, but also in Concepción and Temuco, cities we know well. You may reach Paul at phoff@vtr.net. Tell him I sent you! Update 3/11/10: "A Psychic Discovers Jesus" is the testimony of Tim Thompson, someone who went deep into occultism and was in and out of psych wards and rehab centers. How he came to Christ and finally found his place in the Body of Christ will be an inspiration to all those who truly seek a personal relationship with the living God. It may now be purchased online at http://timthompsonbook.com/. Update 9/13/09: The "Feedback" page has been updated with some very interesting theological discussions which will especially appeal to Book of Mormon believers! Check out the interesting exchange with Tammy Hughes! Update 8/22/09: Do check out the latest translations of "My Visit With Two Mormon Missionaries" into Arabic and Thai! Alert your friends with contacts in those languages and countries and help protect them against the continual barrage of propaganda of Mormon missionaries visiting them with the message that the creeds of all other churches are an abomination in the eyes of God. Update 10/14/08: If you really want to understand Utah Mormons, read "Destroying Angel" (2008) by Charles M. Larson. It is available on Amazon.com. It minutely examines the entire gamut of Utah Mormon mentality, dramatizing actual historical events with the actual names of persons involved in a modern-day context. Topics it covers are: polygamy today, the skin-curse on American Indians, the Blood Atonement doctrine, and the Mountain Meadows Massacre. It is written in an unbiased manner, from neither a Mormon nor a Christian perspective, attempting to be fair to all the different groups it treats. It is must reading for both Mormons and non-Mormons who want to understand them.
Update, 10/3/08: I attended the conference of the Mountain Meadows Monument Foundation, Inc., in Harrison, Arkansas on September 11-13. At last, the Mormon Church is facing up to the horrible deeds committed by its leaders in Southern Utah on September 11, 1857, and is making available to the public the enormous amount of documentation it has gathered on that subject. I salute this step of reconciliation by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the descendents of those 120+ who were massacred on that day and only regret that it has taken 150 years after-the-fact for them to do so. Update, 4/22/08: Latest reports from Salt Lake City, Utah state that the Mormon Church has decided to concede the properties of the Mountain Meadows Massacre to the Federal Government to become a Historical Landmark. Many thanks to the thousands of you who signed and sent in the petition for this to happen. You may click on "petition" which is located in the left column as well as near the bottom of this page to read it. *To find out one reason Bible scholars find it difficult to take Mormon theologians seriously, read "Concerning the Godhead" on the "Feedback" page. A Brief Synopsis of the Mormon Gospel of Salvation by Dr. Dean Helland Joseph Smith: The founder of Mormonism. Born 1805, Died 1844. In his “First Vision”, he learned that Jesus (Jehovah in the Old Testament) and God the Father (Elohim in the Old Testament) are two separate gods, each with a body of flesh and bones. This version was the latest of a series of descriptions of that vision, and is the version used today by Mormon missionaries that knock on your door. (The Holy Spirit is also a god, but for some reason does not have a body of flesh and bones, as do the other gods.) According to Mormonism, the goal of every man is to be exalted, which means he will become a God himself. As a result, he will get his own planet, the number of wives he deserves, and he and his wives will bear spirit children (without a physical body) in order to inhabit the bodies of people born here on planet Earth. The glory of the exalted woman, also a being of flesh and bones, will be to be “eternally pregnant.” The Law of Eternal Progression: “As man is, God once was; As God is, man may become,” said Lorenzo Snow, fifth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints God the Father. Elohim, the god of planet Earth, was born on another planet where he grew up, was married, kept the laws and covenants of the Mormon church faithfully, died, was resurrected and was judged by the god of that planet. He was found worthy and was rewarded with his own planet, named Kolob (according to the Book of Abraham, found in the Pearl of Great Price) and a large number of wives because of his great merit. Elohim lived on that planet with his wives, bearing spirit children. At a certain point, they became mature enough to enter human bodies, so it was determined by the chief of the gods that a planet should be formed for those physical bodies which they could inhabit. A council of the gods met and had to decide which of the spirit-children, either Jesus Christ or Satan, should be the Savior of those physical beings. They voted in favor of Jesus Christ. So we see that Jesus and Satan are brothers, according to Mormonism. God the Son. Jesus Christ, the oldest brother, was sent with the archangel Michael to gather matter from space (which always existed) to form the planet Earth. Meantime, Satan, ill-tempered from the beginning, apparently, was angry at his loss before the council and gathered an army of one-third of his spirit-brothers and sisters to wage war against Jesus in the heavenlies. When Jesus returned to Kolob, he was confronted with this situation and quickly gathered another army which consisted of about a third of the spirit-brothers and sisters, and there was a great war in heaven. Not having a body, they couldn’t throw sticks or stones at each other. Perhaps they just traded insults. We don’t know. Anyhow, Jesus won that conflict, and placed formed Adam and Eve, two of the most valiant warriors for him in that war, on earth as the beginning of the human race. Spirit-children who were with Jesus were blessed to be able to enter the earth in white bodies. Those who had fought for Satan were cursed to not even get a body. They were cast down on earth to wander about without bodies, but they seek to possess our bodies. They are the demons. So you see, the demons are our brothers and sisters. Those spirit-children who did not take sides in that war in the pre-existence were privileged to get a body on this earth, but because of their indecisiveness, by giving Satan some of the right and Jesus some of the right, were condemned to enter into the bodies of the black Africans. In the meridian of time, Elohim made a personal trip to the planet Earth, had a physical relationship with the Virgin Mary, who in that way became the mother of Jesus. So the Holy Spirit was not the father of Jesus like it says in the Bible. The Bible is wrong on that point according to Mormonism. Jesus grew up, got married—several times, according to the first Mormon prophets. Martha and Mary, the sisters of Lazarus, were two of his wives. And the wedding at Cana where he did his first miracle was his own wedding, even though the Bible says he was invited to that wedding. And the reason Jesus was so persecuted was because he was accompanied by his many wives and children. One might almost say he was a Mormon! (The Mormon Church no longer teaches these last two points—for obvious reasons including political correctness—though they are consistent with Mormon dogma.) When Jesus paid the atonement for our sins, it was not for every sin. Some sins are so bad that they can only be atoned by the shedding of one’s own blood. That is why some Mormon murderers in Utah in recent years have chosen the firing squad instead of hanging or lethal injection as their mode of execution. And he didn’t make that atonement on the cross, either. The cross is a cursed symbol of paganism. Glorifying the cross is like a parent who would frame the revolver and display it in their living room! For that reason, Mormons do not display the cross, either as jewelry or on their churches. The atonement was paid at Gethsemane, where he sweat great drops of blood in his agony. According to Brigham Young, Judas Iscariot did not commit suicide, either. The truth is, the other disciples kicked him to death! Jesus’ death and resurrection provided resurrection from the dead for all mankind. However, Joseph Smith opened the door for our exaltation to Godhood. After our resurrection, there will be three judges: Joseph Smith, then Jesus, then Elohim. If we are judged to have been good and faithful Mormons, we will be rewarded according to our merit with our own planet and a corresponding number of wives. Then we will pass on to be judged by Jesus Christ and the Father. Concerning those who do not want to be judged by Joseph Smith, he declared that they who don’t like it must “lump it.”

Ministry ProfileDean Helland Ministries
Dr. Helland was raised believing the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God, but after intensive study, suddenly realized that his faith had been misplaced, and that the Bible contains God's unchanged and unchanging message.
He knew that he loved Jesus Christ and wanted to serve Him with all of his heart and ended up getting two theological degrees at Oral Roberts University. He then served fifteen years with his family on the mission field in Chile. He has served in Christian ministry for nearly 50 years. _____________________________
To all who visit this web site, Dr. Helland says, "God bless you for doing your part in helping win to the Lord my people--the Mormons!" Did you know that the Mormon Church did not stop practicing polygamy immediately in 1890 when that practice was officially discontinued by the Mormon Church? Read the amazing book by Frank J. Cannon, a former U.S. Senator from Utah entitled Under the Prophet in Utah. Over and over again, we hear the news media reporting on the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They generally start off by saying that it has nothing to do with the Mormon Church. This "politically correct" statement ignores that it is a historic split from the Mormon Church which actually adheres to the original teachings of Joseph Smith. These teachings are still found in the current Mormon scriptures, specifically in the Doctrine and Covenants, Section 132. Thank God for the firm hand of the U.S. government back in 1890 when the United States was still a Christian nation! Otherwise, Mormons would be having the same sordid problems as their fundamentalist cousins!
